Stan Lee will be signing in the Main Convention Hall, in the Stan Lee Collectibles Booth located near the end of the Artist Alley. Stan Lee will sign ONE item per Autograph Ticket, available through Desert Wind Collectibles. Sorry but no photography of any kind is located in this area; time will be limited, so we can accommodate as many fans as possible. We highly recommend that you purchase in advance for best pricing, and assured availability. Jessica Nigri is one of the premiere cosplayers in the world. She first gained attention at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con in which she has appeared as Pikachu. Since that time Jessica’s costumes have ranged from hardcore to cute to comic books with Gears of War armor and Lollipop Chainsaw and Harley Quinn of InJustice showing the wide range of her costuming skills not to mention her personality.
Jessica Nigri is appearing as one of the Special Guests of the 2013 Amazing Arizona Comic Con, and we had a chance to ask her a few quick questions-
Jessica- you are a local Phoenix gal- how did you get into Cosplay? How long have you been doing it?
Ahhh the age old tale of how I got into cosplay… I was a quiet girl, played video games, watched anime read a few comics… the usual. One day my friend acquired some San Diego Comic Con tickets and gifted one to me! He said “You are a nerd! You should go to this! Sometimes they dress up and stuff!” So, me having NO IDEA what cosplay was or the like said “Sure!” and went as Sexy Pikachu. To my immense surprise, my sexy rendition of my childhood hero became a huge hit! It still blows me away to this day! That was back in 2009 when it all went down! So i have officially been cosplaying for 4 years! : )
Since your days first appearing as Pikachu, you have literally traveled the world. What were some of the craziest places you have been invited to?
It has been such a huge blessing and I have been so fortunate to travel all over the states! I have also been to Japan 3 times in 2012 alone! I have been to Canada as well, and 2013 has some promising conventions in store, anywhere from Australia to Germany to Moscow!
While Comic Con culture has grown dramatically in the last decade, no area has grown more than costuming. Why do you think that is?
It has grown a lot in the past decade! I feel it has so because people have always wanted to show their love of a videogame/comic book character in the past and as conventions have been growing more and more, with costuming becoming more mainstream people are enjoying doing it more! It is also a great way to show the creators of said video game/comic your appreciation for what they do! And quite frankly it is insanely fun. haha. Nerds are becoming the cool kids and it is the greatest feeling going to a convention with other people that share what you love and do : )
Arizona has one of the most active Cosplay communities that we’ve seen. There’s some great costume groups such as Arizona Avengers and JLAvengers; for Star Wars there’s a big following for the 501st and Rebel Alliance; for more traditional fantasty there’s the Laughing Moon; there’s countless Video Game and anime groups- I can go on and on- what makes this area so hardcore?
Every part of the world has developed a tight knit cosplay community and I think Arizona represents a taste of what the world has to offer! Arizona has A LOT of groups geared towards charities and simply helping out the general community which makes it quite admirable. The Arizona Avengers have expanded across the country to other costumers helping kids and families everywhere. These groups are great!
Cosplay at the Amazing Arizona Comic Con has grown each time out. What makes attending the January show so special? Why should other costumers come out this show? Why should fans come out this one?
This show is special to me because it is a hometown con, where I can see all my great friends and family. The Amazing Arizona Comic Con always brings out an all star cast of guests that really make the trip out from neighboring states and coasts totally worth it! Every year I have been able to have conversations with the guests on a personal level. AACC really makes you feel like those super popular famous people are your buddies and they are just here to come and hang out with you. Costumers should come out to this show because it is WARM this time of year and you can essentially wear whatever costume you see fit! I know a lot of costumers worrying about weather when deciding costumes, but not here in Arizona!! We also have some of the very best photographers here including Grant Brummet and Bobby Vynne to name only a few! AACC has DOUBLED every single year, so I can only imagine the turn out this year! I am insanely excited for the new location and for all the great guests making their way out this year!

of course I am bringing my friends! I am bringing a number of girls from the XX crew, Monika Lee from Atlanta best known for her amazing Little Sister cosplay from Bioshock featured numerous times on Kotaku and other popular blogging sites. Leeanna Vamp known for her sexy videos and amazing photoshoots with IGN, and Playboy(Her Vamperalla cosplay is amazing). I am also bringing my buddies from the super popular clothing line Cherry Sauce Clothing, specializing in video game t-shirts and other awesome original art.

The newest Batman Joker Crossover from DC Comics is rocking the comic world with its high suspense, intricit plots, and elements of horror. The 2013 AMAZING ARIZONA COMIC CON- taking place at the Phoenix Convention Center on January 25-26-27- is your source for all the action!
Batman Special Guests coming to the convention include KYLE HIGGINS, writer of Nightwing, Detective scribe JOHN LAYMAN, and SCOTT LOBDELL, the creator responsible for Red Hood & Outlaws and Teen Titans.
The Three creators will be on hand all weekend to meet with the fans, and sign books. There will be a special panel over the weekend where Higgans, Layman, and Lobdell will discuss all things Batman Death of the Family related. Every Fan attending the Batman Panel will receive a special poster courtesy of DC Comics

The 2013 AMAZING ARIZONA COMIC CON is looking for a few Good Men and Women to assist with the convention, and making the event the best that it can be! We are looking for able bodied persons ages 15 and higher for the following duties:

*Line Management
*Schwag Detail
All Volunteers must be cheerful and listen/follow to directions. And due to the “all hands on deck” nature of the job, ALL volunteers must able to routinely lift 50 lbs. boxes, carry equipment in the hall, and more. It must be stressed that this may very well be a very physical job.
In exchange for one of several FOUR HOUR shifts, we will grant 1 day admission to the Amazing Arizona Comic Con. On January 10th, the countdown to the 2013 AMAZING ARIZONA COMIC CON starts with a pre-show mixer. The AMAZING ARIZONA COMIC CON welcomes the Award Winning Special FX artist, Nichole Chilelli to the Phoenix Convention Center on January 25-26-27. Nichole will be appearing courtesy of BIG CHRIS ART, where she will be meting with fans, signing prints, and performing live cinematic make-up demos
Nicole Chilelli was just crowned the Winner of Face Off!!
She is the first female contestant to win the competition on SyFY’s Special FX TV show Face Off for its 3rd Season. Face Off is a competition/elimination series testing the skills of selected artists from around the world. Challenges incorporate effects make-up, and include a wide range of skill sets including prosthetics, 3-D design, sculpting, casting and molding. Other industry titles include the RAW Artist of the Yeae in 2012 at the RAWawards and more.
While in previous years the AMAZING ARIZONA COMIC CON has focused on pop culture phenomenon like the Walking Dead, and actively promotes pro/am costuming with Cosplay Contests and programs, at this year’s 2013 Comic Con, our goal was to widen the scope of horror and creature creation.
